Charon went around wakin everyone up, knocking on doors and pulled them all out of bed. He then brough them outside to where a man in a black cape stood there beside the arena waiting. Charon walks next and stood beside this man looking at the 6 people just barly awake.
Charon: “good morning. Were going to test your abilities starting off. This is Adam he’ll be testing your magical, and I’ll be testing your physical.”
Adam: “we’ll split them in half; you take the 3 closest to the buff one.”
Charon: “alright, let’s see here, Richard, Philip, and Nick you’re with me.”
The groups split off and there trainers got to work.
Adam: “names?”
Ryan: “Ryan”
Matt: “Matt”
Kyle: “Kyle”
Adam: “good. Now to make this go by quickly stand still and shut up”
Adam put his hand on the forehead of Kyle and closed his eyes. They began to twitch as if something was being seen from the inside of his eyelids, then his eyebrows moved down as if he had seen something unusual. He opened his eyes and looked down at Kyle; he took his hand off of Kyle’s head and placed it on Ryan’s. The same result occurred, then onto Matt’s. after pulling his hand off of Matt’s he looked at them. Pointing at Kyle he said “good” pointing at Ryan he said “good” then pointing at Matt he tilted his head “you my good sir, just the weirdest case I’ve ever seen”. Adam yelled over “were done, whenever you’re ready”. Charon was defending blows from Richard and the other two were sitting at the floor watching.
Charon: “you just about done here?”
Richard: “getting tired?”
Charon: “your blows are not fast enough, work on your speed”
Richard: “I’m not giving up until I hit you!!”
Charon: “you know you remind me of an old legend”
Richard: “the legend of how a little kid kicked your ass!!”
Charon: “let’s stop this now its time to switch with Adam”
Richard swung his fist at Charon, but the monk had vanished. After looking around he was next to Adam looking down at Ryan, Matt, and Kyle.
Charon: “time to switch, how’d they do?”
Adam: “I’ll explain later”
Charon: “Okay I want you to come at me, everything you got, starting with you Ryan!!”
Adam walked over to Philip, Richard, and Nick.
Adam: “names?”
Philip: “Philip”
Nick: “Nick”
Richard: “Richard”
Adam: “good, now shut up and let’s start”
Richard: “do I get to come at you?”
Adam: “no, you get to stand still and shut up”
Adam put his hand on the head of each of the 3. afterwards he sat down on the grass legs crossed.
Adam: “you’re all so… ”
Philip: “magically inept?”
Adam: “I wish”
Charon and the rest walked over and sad down beside Adam.
Charon: “Physically Richard is the best. How about magically?”
Adam: “…potentially… Kyle and Ryan have the best overall magical ability, however Richard, Nick, and Matthew have within them a great force to unlock as well… but Philip… I can’t even get in his head to figure it out… I don’t think he’s got any magical power at all...”
Charon: “he was the worst physically as well... he hit decently fast but very weak…”
Adam: “ok today I’m just going to teach Kyle today, tomorrow I’ll teach Ryan and work my way down. You give them physical lessons and set them off against each other.”
Charon: “sounds good”
Adam and Kyle walked off to the arena and Charon began training the other 5 physically, forcing them to there limit with pushups, laps, and tiring them out. Kyle and Adam stood in the middle Adam had Kyle concentrating on his hands; they were out in front of him, and a small ball had begun to form, it was white in color and appeared to be very unstable. As the day came to a close it was able to form into a white ball that was more stable. The 5 who were training physically had fallen asleep on the grass. Kyle walked over followed by Adam.
Charon: “don’t wake them, this is part of there training.”
The Second day of training Ryan went with Adam and the rest trained. By the end of the day a small ball of fire was able to be seen from Ryan’s hand the reason it was able to be seen was because it was acting as a torch allowing you to see what was going on. Kyle and Philip fell asleep on the field. Richard, Matt, and Nick walked back inside the church and slept.
The Third day of training Nicolas went with Adam. When the day ended there was some small sparks forming around Nick’s hands. Philip had fallen asleep on the floor outside, the others managed to walk inside and go to sleep.
The Fourth day of training Richard was with Adam. At the end of the day it appeared that no progress was made however Richard could feel that there was progress, just no visual assurance of it. Everyone walked back limping and carrying each other. Richard walks over Philip who was on the floor breathing heavily clutching his side. Charon pulled Richard away when he bent over to help Philip get up saying “its part of the training”.
The Fifth day of training Matt was standing with Adam in the middle of the platform. It was different however. Adam kept slapping Matt across the face, and Matt just stood there for a good 10 hits, until he hit back. A different version of the training went on for Matt then did for the others. It is still unknown why this happened. But he too was told to put his hands out. However same result as Richard occurred. No visual results were displayed. On his way back from training everyone was inside and Philip was wandering back.
Matt: “hey you okay dude?”
Philip: “yea, I’ll be fine”
Matt: “your getting owned pretty bad out there”
Philip: “yup, I’ll be fine”
As they reached the door matt opened it but Philip walked towards and then sat down up against the wall.
Matt: “dude?”
Philip: “this is part of my training”
Matt: “k”
Matt sat down next to Philip and closed his eyes.
Matt: “night sweetie”
Philip: “if I wake up and we’re naked, I’m kicking your ass”
The Sixth day of training, Philip was with Adam. The rest continued there struggle with Charon. Adam starred at Philip.
Adam: “you have no magical powers… this is pointless.”
Philip: “you could be wrong”
Adam: “the chance I’m wrong must be one in a trillion”
Philip: “maybe I’m that trillionth digit?”
Adam: “fine, hold out your hands, close your eyes. Listen for the rhythms of the world around you and the rhythms of your self. Focus on the two rhythms, when they tie in together you’ll be able to activate your magical self. The use of magic is modifying your rhythm to suit in with the rhythm of the norm; once you’ve mastered this you can begin to use your spiritual powers.”
The day came to a close and Philip had made no visual process, nor did he feel he had made any. Tonight he went inside to sleep. Tomorrow means they had been there a week.
The Seventh day came. Neither Charon nor Adam came to wake the group up, however they had gotten up on there own, gotten dressed, and walked outside to see that no one was there. Then they went into the dining hall to find Adam reading a large number of books and Charon looking threw a number of scrolls.
Richard: “are we training today?”
Charon: “no, today we rest.”
Ryan: “ok…”
Kyle: “so what are we supposed to do?”
Charon: “if you want, you can go out and show each other what you’ve learned.”
Ryan: “sounds good”
Philip: “Adam... do you mind if I look threw some of these”
Adam: “sure, just put the book back in the pile you grabbed it from”
Ryan, Matt, Nick, Richard, and Kyle walked outside as Philip grabbed a book labeled ‘Mika’s Premonitions’
Adam: “why did you pick that?”
Philip: “the future isn’t something many people know, I would like to find out what this world’s future is… why are there so many prophecies crossed out? Did they happen?”
Adam: “yes, only 5 of his prophecies have yet to come to pass.”
Outside Ryan had lit a small patch of grass on fire, and Kyle had begun to slowly freeze over Ryan’s flame. Nick continued to shock people by poking them with an electrical charge in his finger. After about 30 minutes of fooling around with fire they had all sat under a tree staring up at the sky.
Richard: “it’s been seven days…”
Ryan: “yup”
